Cargill's sweet victory
- Published: 14 April, 2008
Cargill has gained formal recognition for its Zerose erythritol as an approved sweetener and additive in the EU. As the tooth-friendly sweetener does not raise blood sugar or insulin but still has 60-70% of the sweetness of sugar, it serves as a useful alternative for diabetics and pre-diabetics.
It also has a better digestive tolerance than other polyols, according to Cargill.
